Florence Akiiki Asiimwe is Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Makerere University. She is holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (Makerere University), a Master of Arts in Development Studies (Institute of Social Studies, the Hague) and a Diploma in Urban Management Planning (Insitute of Housing Studies, Rotterdam, the Netherlands). Asiimwe is currently a PhD student at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She earlier on worked as a District Urban Development Officer in Luwero and that work experience enabled her understand the dynamics, operations and challenges that local governments face.

William Ngabu Kwemara is a lecturer in the Department of Adult Education and Communication Studies, Institute of Adult and Continuing Education, Makerere University. He holds a first class Bachelors degree in Adult and Community Education of Makerere University, and a Masters degree in Adult Education and certificates in different fiels from varrious universities. He earlier on served as a community development worker with UNDP – Support to Rural Community Enterprises with Kagando Rural Development Centre, Kasese, Western Uganda, a position from which he got a lot of experience in community mobilisation skills.
