In close partnership with the Beijing Bridging Culture &Media Co. Ltd, Lifetree Culture Promotion Centre, China Intercontinental Press and Fountain Publishers, Kampala, two bilingual titles were developed under the Chinese Belt and Road Programme. The Ambassador was briefed about how the two Directors; Mr Mingzhou Zhang and Dr James Tumusiime hatched the idea during the Africa-China Publishing Conference in Nairobi in 2013. He was informed how this was aimed at promoting mutual understanding of two companies in China and Uganda following a series of correspondences that later led to the start of the project in August 2022.
