About Author Prof. Mwene Mushanga was born in Sheema, Ankole, western Uganda. He studied Political Science and Sociology to PhD level at Makerere University. He also studied Criminology at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He taught Sociology and Criminology at Makerere University and Sociology, Social Psychology and Criminology at the University of Nairobi. He also worked as a consultant for the UN on the Prevention of Crime and Treatment of Offenders. Mushanga has been Uganda’s ambassador to over 9 countries. He is the proprietor of Itendero Secondary School, for orphans and other needy children, and he is currently Ambassador and Presidential Advisor on Foreign Affairs as well as Acting Vice Chancellor of Ankole Western University, Kabwohe. He is married to Mama Muko and has children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He has also written several other books and research papers.
