This book investigates the redevelopment, redefinition and redirection of the milk industry in Uganda within the framework of liberalisation, which initially brought visible benefi ts for those involved in the industry. The book further dissects the economics and politics of the milk sub-sector, for instance the impact of resource allocation on the industry by actors such as the state, civil society and private companies. It also analyses the structural, institutional and policy rigidities that hamper the contribution of the milk industry to the development of south-western Uganda.
